Between Grey Lines

Author’s Note
Between Grey Lines was born from a period of deep creative and emotional reflection. It was a moment when I began questioning the clarity of my own thoughts and the truth behind what I call “understanding.”
The poem explores the tension between illusion and revelation, portraying how the mind can be both a prison and a sanctuary.
It’s a confession of the human struggle to see clearly when the world, and even our own hearts, are painted in shades of grey.
Between Grey Lines
Between grey lines; a sea of distorted visions.
Each painting, appealing to fainting emotions.
A game of daggers, my soul to greet.
Narratively woven with threads of deceit.
Oh, what a tale of never-ending bizarre!
Let the flames lick up the patches bereft.
I scribble my thoughts to unveil my mind,
A complex force that endlessly binds.
Behind these cracks are lingering doubts,
Exclusively fashioned to keep me bound.
The love I see is burned in death,
Passionate venom designed to steal my breath.
Between grey lines, the truth is faint.
I’m swallowed by fear of words unheard.
Where fractured selves refuse to hide,
The canvas drips with what I’ve denied.
Standing now between ruin and rise,
I wait for the moment when I’ll be found.
